Habitat?

Habitat coffee or a café~
This place has been a real mystery to me.. I've always seen my friends on Instagram taking photos of their #foodporn there... and I must say it looks really... really good.

Especially all those poached eggs and waffles ♡v♡
(I think by now you would have figured out my recent obsession of egg Benedict and ice cream on waffles hahaha) 

So lucky for me. There was a meet up with friends at habitat coffee~ yay** 

And lucky for me again. It was at Thomson Road.. which is really near home so it was super convenient. We got there and got our seats.

The environment?
I must say.. The ambience was not bad~ I really like the theme of the place very... Korean-ish?  Hahaha I don't really know how to explain it.  But... I went on a Sunday night... and it was C.R.O.W.D.E.D. so we were pretty lucky we didn't have to wait for a table for 5, although it was squeezy.

The ordering system is a self service kind? Well you just have to pay before eating. Anyways,  their menu (click on the link to see their menu! ) has all day brunch.. but only for weekends hahaha.(yay for me^^) Brunch ends at 5.30pm on weekdays though so if you wanna eat brunch you might want to take note.

Ps: water is self service...In most cafés water is self service and free flow. So if you want to drink some you gotta help yourself to some. (:

Something Fishy

Tuna pasta with olives ans spices~
alil tangy and very fishy full 

Blacken Dory

Spicy black pepper pasta, although they say it isn't spicy on the menu,
we all know.. pepper gives one hella of a punch to your taste buds.

Bread was chewy and fragrant.
Savoury and sweet too!

Wholemeal BLT
Bacom Lettuce Tomatoooo~

Ice Cream with Waffles!!!
don't really know what ice cream this is, cos we ordered salted caramel.
But this tasted like coffee. 

Drizzled with chocolate syrup

Lemon-up and Iced Chocolate

Lemon-up: Mix of Iced Lemon Tea, lemonade and 7-up weird taste though.
But worth the try.
Iced Chocolate: Its iced chocolate.. its yummy. cos its chocolate hahaha 

House-made Churros!
love this churros, probably the one of the best that I've eaten.

Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.
It doesn't have that fried taste that make use feel queasy (jelat) after eating too much
*hahaha*and tastes just right.

Its a bistro cafe that not only sells food and tea&coffee, they also have beers here too!
Its a great place to chill with friends or have meetings at.
What's good is that they have plugs so that you can charge your laptops there, just like coffee bean and Starbucks.. but at a less crowded and yummier environment. Hahaha

They have different menus at different times of the day.
Like the brunch menu which is only available on Saturdays and Sundays.
Breakfast, lunch, hi-tea and also dinner.

So we went to Poteato during dinner time.
There was a crowd there just like any cafe at a dinner time,
What I like about the place it has a really nice feel to it, although you will need to go to the cashier to order your food.
(Which I feel is not a big issue~ at least you don't have the pressure of waiters or waitress waiting for you to make a decision on what to eat.)
They have columns? or sections? like a wall~, and the seats are nicely placed apart enough privacy to have a conversation with your friend(s) without being overheard.

Rather then the place and environment, of course we will need food *smirk*
Their specialities are the fish and chips, salmon with roast potatoes, sweet potato chips, Louisiana Pork Ribs and Bangers and mash.
So naturally we ordered the two main dishes salmon and pork ribs, a side of potato chips and an iced mocha and a iced lemon tea.

Salmon & Roast Potatoes
Tender salmon that is layered with teriyaki sauce, cooked perfectly, juicy and tender.

 A side of salad dressed with balsamic vinegar and olive oil
 and roasted potatoes that are slighted seasoned with herbs and salt. 

Louisiana Pork Ribs
Tender and succulent ribs cooked to perfection, not tough or dry.

Comes with a side of wedges, salad and cheese (for the wedges)

Iced Mocha (Strong coffee taste with no sugar)
Iced Lemon Tea (not too sweet, perfect blend of tea and lemon)

Sauces: Cheese and Tomato herb

Its like a meal on its on so it comes with a side of salad as well~

The table was a little bit small for 3 big plates haha. But we managed~

I have a really small appetite, but surprisingly the salmon was just nice for me! I finished every single bit of it, it was just that good hahaha~ (or Maybe I was just really hungry hahaha ^^)

Although the cafe was kinda far from the MRT station, but you could just take a short cut through the HBD buildings which take about 8-10mins walk. (Having a little work out before dinner really gives a you a good appetite.)
Especially after having filled our stomachs to the brim, walking around looking at the cafes and restaurants nearby also going in to a local bookstore really made the night nicer. Just nice to digest the food.

Oh! they are also not open on Mondays~
but they are opened from 12pm -10.30pm on weekdays (Tuesdays - Friday)
and 10am -10.30pm on Saturdays, 10am - 9pm on Sundays!
